Happy New Year.... The year ahead
We would like to wish all our guest a Happy and Prosperous New Year 

We had a lovely festive period welcoming many returning guests, with a few new faces over New Year.  Everyone ate, drank and were merry with many guests booking again for next year.  We may have one or two vacancies for next Christmas so if you would like to visit us please call Kate to register your interest.  We should know if we have any vacancies by end of March.

For those romantics amongst you, we are offering 2 nights B&B -  either Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun - including a 5 course Valentines dinner on Saturday 13th February, for under £165 (based on 2 sharing).  Guest can add additional nights on B&B or DBB basis, or order champagne/flowers/chocolates for your room ready for arrival as required.  There is limited availability so call Kate now to discuss your requirements in full.

Throughout February we are participating in the 'Kids go Free' campaign in partnership with the English Riviera.  Not only does this give families free accommodation for children (one child per paying adult*), but there are lots of attractions offering free entry for the kids too!   We do have a limited number of family rooms so please call us now. (*we consider children to be 12 years and under, minimum room rate of £62 applies).

We have recently become supporters of the Torbay Holiday Helpers Network.  Click on the icon below to find out more about what local hotellier Luke Tillen has founded and his vision for the future.  I have copied the following few paragraphs from his website;

The Torbay Holiday Helpers Network is a network of hotels, tourist attractions and businesses all committed to helping give away free holidays and experiences to families who have terminally ill, seriously ill and recently lost children in conjunction with NACCPO  (National Alliance of Childhood Cancer Parent Organisations).   Please note:   Holidays are only awarded via referral from NACCPO.

The network is currently very young and still growing everyday with new members joining on a regular basis our aim is to give as many holidays and experiences away as possible and ultimately set up holiday networks in tourist destinations across the country.

We wish Luke every success with this project.

Renovations continue this year with our focus being on refurbishing the top floor balconies, to something a little more sympathetic to our surroundings and of course some new signs.

Lastly, we have some birthdays to look forward to before spring.  Our darling Emily is 3 on 2nd March, and Kate celebrates her 40th on April 8th.  Emily, when asked, tells everyone she is '4 or 6' and Kate isn't too bothered about turning the big 4 0, but is amazed to find she still feels about 17 (when she had a really bad perm, loved Simple Minds, and wouldn't leave the house without electric blue mascara or 'twilight teaser' lipstick!!).  Perhaps at least a little wiser nowadays!

Christmas
Early indications ar that we might have one or two vacancies for Christmas 2010.  If you are interested in staying with us please register your interest with Kate now.  As per previous years anyone who stayed last year will be offered their room again.  Availablity will be ascertained by end of March 2010. 

Family re-union or party...
perhaps you are a large group that just needs a midweek or weekend getaway.  Why not hire us on an exclusive basis.  We can tailor your stay to suit your requirements with private dinners, afternoon teas, party night, late checkout.  Minimum numbers and number of nights do apply but call Kate to discuss your requirements to see if we are suitable.  We still have dates available throughout 2010.
